About me
Being the reason.
Mission & vision
I built Be The Reason because one of the loneliest parts of struggling with your mental health is the silence that surrounds it. It is the feeling that no one could possibly understand what is happening inside you. It is the fear that no one else has ever felt the way you do.
I believe that silence needs to be broken.
When someone finds the courage to share what they have walked through — the fear, the doubt, the pain, the setbacks, the small victories, and the hope they fought to find — they give someone else permission to believe that they are not broken. They give someone permission to speak. To ask for help. To keep going. To believe that life can change, even when it does not feel like it can.
That is what Be The Reason is about.
I imagine a world where talking about mental health is no longer something we hide from. A world where sharing your story is ordinary, brave, and accepted as simply another part of being human. A world where people do not have to suffer in silence or wonder if they are the only ones who feel this way.
Why I started this
I started this because there was a time when I felt like my story was a burden. I was afraid to let anyone know what I had been through. I carried it quietly, believing that the hardest parts of my life were something I needed to hide.
Today, I see my story differently. I see the strength it gave me. I see the person it helped me become. Most importantly, I see the blessing hidden within the pain.
What happened to me will always be a part of my story, but it does not have to define me. My story is proof that the things we never thought we would survive can become the very things that make us stronger.
I created this website for anyone who has ever felt ashamed of their story, alone in their pain, or afraid that what they have been through makes them less worthy. I created it as a place where people can share their stories without judgment, find strength in the words of others, and discover the beauty that can exist on the other side of survival.
Sometimes, the words you are most afraid to say are the exact words someone else desperately needs to hear.
I want every survivor to know that they are not alone. Someone else understands. Their story matters. Their pain does not make them weak. Surviving something does not mean they have to spend the rest of their life carrying it as a burden.
Your story may have changed you, but it does not have to destroy you. There is strength in speaking about your story. There is power in realizing that your darkest chapter can become someone else’s light.
I want this to be a place where one person’s courage becomes another person’s hope. I want one story to give someone else the strength to keep going. I want survivors to turn their pain into purpose and their experiences into something that helps another person survive.
You never know who is holding on by a thread and waiting for a reason to keep going. Share your story. Read someone else’s. Be the reason someone feels less alone. Be the reason someone finds hope. Be the reason someone keeps going.
I want us to become the reason someone else chooses to stay. I want every person who comes to this website to find a reason to keep going, even on the days when they can’t find one within themselves. I want every story shared here to remind someone that their life is worth fighting for, that their future is worth reaching, and that their story is not over yet.
Your story is not a burden. You are not alone. What you survived does not diminish you—it is proof of the strength that lives within you. There is still hope ahead of you, there is still purpose within you, and there is still so much of your story left to write.
Let your story become someone else’s reason to keep going.
